As winter transitions into spring, we at Reit Energy have four helpful conservation tips to help you save energy and money:
- Schedule your air conditioner tune-up: An AC tune-up ensures that you have a mean, green cooling machine this summer! - Upgrade your AC system: Your AC tune-up (see above) can also help determine whether it’s time for an upgrade. The latest central air conditioning systems are energy-efficient, eco-friendly, quiet, and big on comfort! Especially if your current AC system is over 10 years old, you should contact us for a FREE cooling system evaluation. - Seal gaps in your windows and doors: To seal gaps for energy efficiency, use a combination of caulk for cracks and joints, weatherstripping for movable doors/windows, and expanding spray foam for larger gaps and holes. These materials prevent air leakage, reducing heating and cooling costs.
- Clean/replace air filters once a month: Clean filters ensure optimal airflow and air quality. Clogged air filters can cause a spike in energy bills and unexpected repairs.
